           All  applicants are invited from eligible Indian candidates and qualified candidates for the post of Scientist-‘B’ and Scientific/Technical Assistant ‘A’ in National Informatics Centre (NIC).

1. Name of post: Scientist B
No of posts : 81 posts (UR-42, OBC-21, SC-12, ST-6) (PH-2)
Pay :  Level 10 in 7th Pay Commission salary matrix Rs. 56100-177500
Age Limit: 30 years as on 28/08/2017.

Qualification :  BE/ B.Tech. in Computer Science or Computer Eng. OR BE/ B.Tech. in Information Technology OR BE/ B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication OR BE/ B.Tech. in Electronics & Telecommunication OR M.Sc. (Physics) with one year of relevant experience OR M. Sc. (Electronics /Applied Electronics) with one year of relevant experience  (You will be surprised to know, M.Sc. (IT) / M.Sc. (CS) / MCA are not allowed for IT vacancy in IT department/organization)
  
2. Name of post: Scientific/Technical Assistant 'A'
No of posts: 229 posts (UR-133, SC-38, ST-19, OBC-69) (PH-7)
Pay :  Level 6 in 7th Pay Commission salary matrix Rs. 35400-112400
Age Limit: 30 years as on 28/08/2017.

Qualification :  M.Sc./MS/MCA/B.E/B.Tech in any one or in combination these fields: Physics, Electronics, Applied Electronics, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer and networking security, Software System, Information Technology, Management, Informatics, Computer Management, Bio-informatics, Remote
Sensing, Geographical Information System (GIS), Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computational linguistics, Information Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Design.

Selection Process: The selection process for the post of Scientist-‘B’ will be based on both in the written examination and in personal interview. The marks for written examination and interview will be in the ratio of 85:15. It is mandatory to appear in the interview for selection. For the post of Scientific/Technical Assistant ‘A’ there will be no interview.
